Codex Pets

Small pixel cats that live on your screen and tell you what Codex is doing.

A feature we shipped before the collection. Codex is OpenAI's coding agent app. Codex Pets are the 25 Weird Cats as companions inside it. They float on your screen and show what Codex is up to: working, waiting for you, or done.

Install

Once, in your terminal

codex plugin marketplace add nett0eth/weird-cats-codex-pets
codex plugin add weird-cats@weird-cats

Pick a cat, in a Codex chat
```
$weird-cats lucky
```
Switch it on: Settings, Pets, Refresh.

Use any of the 25 names in lowercase, with a hyphen for spaces (frog-hat). $weird-cats all adopts the whole litter. The roster is on Genesis.

Good to know

In the working state each cat opens a laptop. Those working sprites are still experimental.
Each pet follows your cursor in 16 directions.
The original four (Smoke, Lucky, Glitch, Beanie) are still available as $weird-cats smoke-classic, lucky-classic, glitch-classic and beanie-classic.
Free. No wallet. Fan-made, not affiliated with OpenAI.
